Text 7 Jan The Toomey Wedding Chris and Heather

The wedding of Chris and Heather was such a great wedding to be apart of. Heather is a a wonderful friend of mine and one of my favorite receptionist at the salon that I work at in Oak Park. We actually started working on the same day at the salon. I have been so lucky getting to know her and becoming her friend.

Heather and Chris got engaged a year and a half before their wedding on a special trip to Vegas together. I was so excited when Heather returned to the salon and told everyone, “I’m engaged!”. This is exciting because if you know Heather she has never been one to enjoy the spotlight on her or any special attention (I know she isn’t normal, Right??). I wanted to know every detail, I think I was a little overwhelming at times too… I made her a binder to keep her organized, a list of every wedding blog under the sun, and put a post it on any picture of weddings I thought she should see. It became a joke between the two of us how crazy I was about her wedding. This is just another reason why I love Heather so much, she puts up with me being a crazy wedding Nazi!

It was finally the day of the wedding and everyone got together at Heather’s mother in law Sherri’s house. All of the girls were excited to get ready as my friend Kristine and I set up to do the hair. A co-worker of ours Kathrine was doing the make up at the house as well. It was a busy house full of girls getting ready, having mimosas, listening to music and getting excited for the ceremony and reception. There were some tears and some moments of laughter, over all a really great morning of getting ready.

All the bridesmaids wore their hair down with soft curls, some of them swept it back a little. The mother of the groom wore her hair in a half up half down style with a lot of body. The Bride wore her hair in a low curled updo with a small hair piece to add some sparkle. Heather is so beautiful I could of shaved her head and stuck a veil on top and she would of looked stunning.

All of the girls left to go to the venue to start taking photos. Kristine and I finished up at the house and met the girls at the venue to do some final touches. The girls all looked so beautiful! As Heather walked down the aisle everyone had a smile on their face looking at her, especially the groom :)

The recieption was a great party, all the guest had a great time and all our girls looked stunning! I even caught/stole the boquet…

Thank you for letting me be a part of your day! Heather I love you and you were a stunning bride! I wish you and Chris a wonderful life filled with love and laughter together!

Mozel Tov!!!

Sara and Allen where a very special couple to work with. Sara has been one of my younger sisters closest childhood friends. Watching her grow in her relationship with Allen and build up to their wedding together was a wonderful experience.

Sara and Allen had been together for a coupe years and Allen popped the question at Disneyland. The year to follow Sara graduated form the nursing program at Channel Islands, got a job at Children’s Hospital and had a beautiful wedding. I couldn’t be more happy for this young lady and her husband Allen.

One the wedding day all the bridesmaids and the lovely bride got together at Sara’s home to all get ready. The girls were all very excited for what the day had in store. I had the pleasure of doing all the bridesmaids hair in softly pinned updos placed to the side. The bride wore hers down with very soft curls. Her thick brown hair looked so perfect down in both her dresses, yes both, she wore an adorable short white dress at the reception. Simple was the theme of the day. Sara wanted the girls hair to be up because hers was going to be down.

It was a very special experience, each girl was so excited to go to the wedding. The girls were talking about their trip to Vegas together, the bridal shower they had thrown and all that was in store for the reception. It was great to be apart of the morning.

I now have a new love for Mumford and Sons (a band) because it was the only CD they had in the house. Because it takes a few hours to get ready we listened to it about 7 times. This was a joke between the bridesmaids and I and thought it was hilarious that we kept restarting it.

Sara was a very calm and beautiful bride. She got into her dress at the house with the help of her sister and mother. I stayed to put her veil on and do some final touches. She was a stunning bride! All the girls left for the church together for a beautiful ceremony and a very fun reception.

Thank you for letting me be apart of your day!

So happy for the new couple! Best of luck and lots of love!!! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Osborne!!!

Text 4 Jan The Maier Wedding Liz and Greg

This summer I got to be apart of a beautiful wedding for Liz and Gregory Maier. The couple who currently live in Las Vegas came out to Camarillo for a beautiful garden wedding.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Liz very breifly through emails and phone calls before the wedding because of the distance. We had a very funny experience the day before the wedding when she got into the area. As we all know weddings are very stressfull and even more so when they are a destination. Liz walked into the salon incredibly frazzled with several question and pictures of hair styles. I had her sit down and she became much calmer. We laughed about this in the salon, Liz told me, ” I promise I’m not crazy”. We both laughed and came up with a perfect style for the day of.

The next day I met up with the girls to get ready in a hotel close to the venue. All the bridesmaids and a much calmer bride were together in adorable matching robes getting ready for the day. I had the privilege of getting to know the girls and hearing their stories about the bride and the groom.

There was a lot of laughter and good stories being told as everyone got ready.

Liz wore a beautiful updo. She had long hair that we swept up and slightly put to a side. She had a longer fringe in the front so her curls framed he face so beautifully. It was a perfect bridal look, very very elegant and matched perfectly with her stunning Vera Wang gown and tear drop earrings.

I had a very fun morning with all of them, hearing about the couple and all the beautiful details Liz had put into the wedding.

I wish the happy couple and wonderful life together!

To Liz and Gregory!!!!

The Abrams Wedding

Kelly and Max

Photo 20 Jul A Beautiful Day at the Santa Barbara Zoo with Kelly and Max.

This beautiful wedding took place at the Santa Barbara Zoo on the clearest day in July.
Doing this wedding was a very cool experience. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Kelly in the salon that I work in about four months ago. Kelly actually was my youngest sisters cheer coach when she was in high school. It is a very small world.
Kelly had a couple different ideas about what she wanted for the special day. It was so nice getting to know her through her trial appointment and the back and forth emails we would have about how many times she changed her mind. It actually became comical and we had a good time joking about how she had “big hair envy” and all she wanted for the day of the wedding was full beautiful hair.
When the day finally came all of the bridal party was together in a hotel room right next to the zoo. It was a very busy room. All of the girls had adorable matching shirts that said bridesmaids on them. They were all getting their hair and make up done. There was a lot of laughter and funny stories going on as well.
Doing a wedding party can be at times crazy, busy, and all on a timeline that never seems to go accordingly. With that said when the bride sits down in the chair everything kind of stops and slows down. It is my favorite moment on a wedding day. It is special to me because I really get to know the bride in a very special way because it is one of the only times she really has to sit still and get to process everything that is going on. Which I am sure was hard for this bride because she is so excited and full of life. Kelly remained calm, which is amazing if you saw how many people were in the hotel room. Doing her “hair envy” worthy updo was very fun. This bride was so so beautiful. I did a soft side swept updo with some very loose curls.
I got the opportunity to go over to the Zoo and help the girls with all the final touches. Kelly had gotten some gardenias from the florist to place in each of their hair. As she got in her dress, I placed all the flowers in their hair. Even Kelly had a beautiful gardenia in her hair. It was a perfect look for the out door beachy wedding.
This was an amazing wedding to be apart of. Thank you Mrs. Abrams for letting me share this day with you and your party.
